Senior Software Engineer –
Ruby on Rails

Looksmart is looking for experienced Sr. Software Developers - Ruby on Rails for a major e-commerce development project based in San Francisco.

Responsibilities:

• Perform software development of new Ad Center functions.
• Perform maintenance and bug fixing on existing Ad Center functions.
• Perform production support for the Ad Center including troubleshooting and problem resolution.
• Design and document your work.
• Unit test software changes and support QA testing.
• Participate in code and design review process, provide and receive feedback to/from other developers.

Required Qualifications:

• 3 years' experience doing object-oriented application development with Ruby, Java, or PERL.
• 3 years' experience developing web applications in a Unix environment.
• Strong working knowledge of SQL at least 3 years experience.
• Strong working knowledge of CVS or SVN.
• Must be detail-oriented and through in design, coding and testing.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to work well as part of an engineering team.
• Proven ability to track to aggressive schedules and produce quality deliverables on time.
• Must be able to work well independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional experience doing application development with Ruby on Rails.
• Professional experience with MVC application development.
• Experience with Oracle including query optimization.
• Experience with test-driven development
• Professional Experience with online advertising or e-commerce application development
