Revenue Accountant

LookSmart is currently seeking a Revenue Accountant to join our Finance team based in San Francisco.

Responsibilities Include:

• Period end close – Prepare, enter, and post monthly revenue journal entries. Analyze, calculate and record A/R reserves. Prepare monthly roll forward schedules and account reconciliations of general ledger accounts including accounts receivable, revenue, and deferred revenue accounts. Work with Sales to ensure revenue is recorded completely.
• Manage chargebacks – Responsible for resolving credit card chargebacks. Work with Customer Service group to dispute chargebacks and provide weekly reporting. Upload chargeback activity into customer maintenance system. Identify problem accounts and specifically reserve for chargebacks.
• Audit – Prepare reports and reconciliations as required in completing the year-end audit and quarterly reviews. Produce back up as required by external auditors and Revenue Manager. Perform monthly and quarterly testing of controls to ensure Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 compliance.
• Commissions calculations – Administer the commission plan for Sales team. Ensure accurate commission calculation and payout based on defined plans. Work with HR and Sales management to review and revise commission policy as needed.
• Miscellaneous revenue – Back up Accounts Receivable and perform other analysis as required.

Required Skills:

• 3-5 years experience as a revenue accountant, preferably in the high-tech sector or in a public company.
• Great Plains experience preferred.
• Processing credit card chargebacks.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Microsoft office.
• Public accounting experience preferred.
• B.A. in accounting or accounting related field.
